Son Shine Christmas Program

Family members and friends are invited to our school Christmas program at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the church sanctuary.

We are working on some simple songs that we want to share with you.

Following our program, please plan to stay for fellowship and refreshments!

On this day, at preschool, we will follow our usual schedule until it is time for our program. We will not do any messy projects or play outside so it will be safe for your child to wear special clothes, if you choose.

Snacks Needed for the Christmas Program

If you would like to volunteer to provide fruit, vegies, cracker, cookies…etc. for our preschool Christmas program, please sign the list on the table outside the Preschool door. Thank you!

Son Shine Giving Tree

Did you know that the offering your child brings to Chapel each week is given to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery?

This Christmas season your family can also support this important organization by donating some of the items from the Nursery’s Winter Wish List. Please take a tag from the tree outside our room as a reminder of your commitment. Place the items (no need to wrap) under the Christmas tree outside our classroom by Wednesday, December 20th. Thank you!

Vanessa Behan is a non-profit organization that works to strengthen families and prevent child abuse by providing parenting help and a safe place for children whose parents are in crisis or just plain worn out from the demands of parenting.

It’s Christmas!

Throughout December, we are learning the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible and will examine how many of the activities and customs we do to prepare for Christmas and  the symbols we use to celebrate Christmas are related to the story of the Savior’s birth.

Our Bible lessons for this month are:

  • Nov. 27- Dec 1…The Angel visits Mary
  • Dec. 4-8…Jesus is born in Bethlehem:
  • Dec.11-15...The angels tell shepherds about Jesus
  • Dec. 18-20…Shepherd and Kings worship Jesus

It is snowing…Is school cancelled?

Son Shine follows Spokane Schools lead for closing school due to snow.

Check local TV news, watch for a text message and/or phone call from your child’s teachers on days when school is cancelled.

Please send a warm jacket, hat and mittens to school each day. It is getting cold but we still go out to play!
